hey jan, do we need an empire? oh yes..a HUMAN EMPIRE!

jr-why the name "human empire"?

the idea was to build a second world in the real world... a better world
were the good and peaceful people have the power and not warlords.
A lot of friendly figures should live on this website - it should be a place
were you can got to if you have to escape from the real world - a playe
which makes you smile. sounds a bit crazy but this was my first intention.
more a statement than a kind of ... this sounds good ...

JR-what exactly is "human empire"?

human empire is a 2 man 1 girl collective which does illustrations, designs,
animation, websites other design stuff... and on the other hand there is the
label - were we sell our shirts, sweatshirts, poster and other stuff.

JR-be "morr music designer" help you to be more known?....it's a
silly question...but anyway, i don't know you history and the first time i saw your
work was the graphic you did for all the morr music release.... actually i use to buy clothes from your company...
so i'd like to know how everything start and grow up?

... it helps to get more interesting work ... thomas and i came from the
same city (same school) and were friends for nearly 20 years now. we lived
together in hannover (university) - thomas worked in record shops and
studied when he was thinking about starting a label. when he decided to try
it - he asked me to do the designs cause he always wanted to have a kind of
big family and work with kind musicans (sometimes friends)...
after more than 5 years doing a lot for morr music i am really happy and
surprised that everything works so well - may be i would never had the
chance to meet so many different people from other countries and so many of
my favourite musicans... if thomas wouldn't have started this label thing.
it is magic ;) and i am of course really happy about it.

JR-what are "t-shirt" or sweather for human empire? any ethics/aesthetics
plus on it....or it's just a fashion things?

oh no - fashion is a "terrible thing" - for me it is more a passion to
design them and to put something personal on the shirts - i am not a fan of
the cool fashion scene - i am more a political/social person - this is much
more important than design. we try to buy textiles which are not produced in
asian sweatshops (they come from turkey and the USA)
i think i will start with more political shirts or posters one day... the
stuff i do is more the fantasy or dream of a better world. a bit naive
but i really like old retro figures and toys etc. from my childhood...

I hope my answers are ok and you could imagine what i mean...
sometimes things a difficult to describe. ;)
